UIF Program
The University Initiatives Fund was established by President Richard L McCormack in 1996. Prism is one of the projects supported by the UIF. It allows the University to invest in interdisciplinary initiatives to reach broader institutional educational goals. Proposed initiatives must:
- Promise significant academic impact
- Provide substantially enhanced levels of service to academic programs
- Enhance quality and excellence
- Provide for long-term significance and sustainability
The climate change project is collaboration between the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences. It will create an interdisciplinary program in climate change and the global CO2 cycle that will both integrate existing strengths and fill some gaps.
